SPAN 332 Team Project: Poster at the Public Engagement Symposium and Technology Showcase

Spanish community service learning students are getting the word out about SPAN 232 and SPAN 332.
Out of all the team projects in this semester's Spanish & Entrepreneurship course, one group (equipo #6: Alyssa Forsyth, Lisa Medearis and Melissa Schaaf) has had to hustle to meet its early deadline: the March 9th Public Engagement Symposium.
Out of all the team projects in this semester's Spanish & Entrepreneurship course, one group (equipo #6: Alyssa Forsyth, Lisa Medearis and Melissa Schaaf) has had to hustle to meet its early deadline: the March 9th Public Engagement Symposium.
That's why I was excited to see the official program for the symposium and see the description of their poster (page 16, #67):
"Serving the Spanish Speaking Community through Community-Based Learning: Spanish 232 and Spanish 332"
These two courses apply the teaching method known as community-based learning (CBL). Students of either course are provided with the opportunity to volunteer a total of 28 hours with a community partner organization that serves the Spanish-speaking community throughout Urbana-Champaign. We hope to share our first-hand experiences working with our community partners while expressing the benefits objectives and history of CBL at the University of Illinois.
